So that would not be an acceptable option.

I can’t read the story but I hope she gets through this case okay. ICE is attacking people every day. No one knows for sure who they are in the moment.

We ALL have to stand up for this document.

They’re trying to makes troops in cities seem like business as usual. They’re trying to normalize things that are absolutely unacceptable!

Disappearing people is still barely on some people’s radars. I mean wtf?!?

Thank you for being a beacon of hope!

Maybe should write the federal constitution into the California constitution. I heard that the state constitutions are actually very strong.

Right? Funding new ways to pay private companies for what public schools could do cheaper is not the right way to go about this. And while this new program is funded, schools are not receiving the funding they need.

But you’re neglecting to talk about how you’re expanding what’s covered with our education budget, but continuing to add new public-private partnerships to education spending. This does not fund teachers in classrooms.

Why is the Department of Early Learning and Care so focused on public-private partnerships?

Beyond the indexing and everything, wouldn’t the program be better if public money stayed in public programs. If taxpayer money is used to fund private preschools, there is a greater concept of profit that also needs to be paid, and much less ability for public oversight.

I think many people would prefer to live in walkable cities. It’s a better lifestyle. But I’m in Oregon where there are pushes to use more public transit and a hope to toll roads, but without the draw of a walkable city with amenities nearby. Suburbs are not built for walkability.

I find this frustrating. How many of the dollars going into Preschool Promise are going to preschools at public schools? If there is a desert, then why would money go to in-home daycares rather than into a public school program at the school, where we already have teachers and classrooms available?
