I wouldn’t call that financial success so I don’t see the relevance.

But I’m aware the art industry- and many others are struggling.

And we both know why.

I don't necessarily wanna be famous. just financially successful.

but I agree it's largely more rewarding to stay close to a group of friends instead of a weird parasocial relationship with dozens of strangers.

SAME DUDE! I’m about to round that 30 years behind mark myself & I think that’s why I’m freaking out.

I should be… so much farther along than I am.

But these sites are so over saturated with talent how can we stand out!?

It’s really demoralizing.

But I see bratty &/or mediocre artists getting huge followings constantly.

I tried drawing more fan art & I even got Twitter blue to get more eyes on my art- they helped a little.

So what IS it that’s wrong? Why am I a constant failure!? I’d fix it if I just knew what it was!

But, I just don’t have the audience for it & I don’t know why.

For years, I thought it was because my art sucked but it’s doing really well on blue sky. Then I thought it’s my characters but I see generic characters beloved all the time I thought maybe it’s me I’m unlikable.
