the gc needs to be aware of data structures cause it also has to consider them during the sweep. basically everything gets marked at least once. gc just wont kill the ds with magic so i guess u could call it not being collected. but gc still is aware of data structures

fun quiz but gc does handle the data structures homie. u gotta manually mark 'em for deallocation but they all get touched by the gc and shoveled into generations same as structs/arrays/everything else.
