I post about tech, software engineering, and gaming (among many other things). Love to learn & build.

Opinions are my own.

This is very timely, I’m trying out sokol + zig on a voxel project!

This is such a fun idea. I love all these new wrapped features in things this year :)

Side note: I once fixed a bug in atuin and @ellie.wtf sent me a lovely little sticker with the atuin logo. Little gestures like that go a long way <3

Mitchell Hashimoto (of Hashicorp fame) just released the public 1.0 of Ghostty, the terminal emulator.

Cannot recommend it enough. I’ve had a stellar experience with it as part of the beta group for the past year. It’s fantastic software.

Super excited about Clay, the video was superb.

You gotta admit that this (on mobile) is pretty funny though:

Promising results!
Too bad it costs a bazillion dabloons to ask this one question (which it still got wrong)…

I’m still not sure if ARC is testing on-the-fly learning & reasoning or just a skill that we wouldn’t expect to see in the training data (but now will).

Congrats to #AstroBot at #TheGameAwards. I loved hearing Team Asobi say they were focused on making it fun for kids, since it might be their first game. It’s a wonderful love letter to 30 years of PlayStation.

It’s so fun to watch the passion & emotion of a team achieving their dreams!

The fact that this bogus “9.5% ghost engineer” study came from a student at Stanford should cure your imposter syndrome.

The results of a small ML model trained to score PR difficulty is unreliable *at best*. But to extrapolate that across the whole industry?

And all that to plug consulting…

FWIW, there are slackers no matter where they’re required to work.
I think remote work requires more discerning performance reviews.
