Last week, La Mesa Academy welcomed students to its second residency. Cohorts 1 and 2 spent a week on Candler’s campus fostering learning, worship, fellowship, and community.
Each residency is another chapter in La Mesa’s growing story, shaped by the voices and experiences of LMA students.

The Candler community joins those mourning the passing of Walter Brueggemann, revered Old Testament scholar and professor emeritus at Columbia Theological Seminary, who died June 5. We give thanks to God for Dr. Brueggemann’s life, scholarship, and witness.

The Candler community is grieving the death of our former dean and colleague Russell E. Richey, who died on January 19. Russ made extraordinary contributions to Candler and Emory, and he was a towering figure in the world of Methodist Studies. (1/2)

On Tuesday, the Candler community gathered for La Posada: An Advent Journey. Starting in Cannon Chapel and ending in the Atrium, the event reflected on Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem with reenactments and songs in English and Spanish.
