angelsona bad end. compared to the angel of record, the angel of corrections is more sociable, better at masking, and generally more willing to play along with the demands and rituals of hierarchy… eventually the gap is too wide, and they fall apart

Record has a shocked beat panel, then tries and fails to speak, putting a hand to their throat as they manage only a strangled noise. "Congratulations," they sign, looking away. Corrections steeples his fingers, avoiding eye contact, as he continues: "I know it's sudden... and - and how you must feel about this... But I really think I could do some good, in the right position." Record stares, with a miserable, resigned expression, as Corrections' desperate speech balloons crowd around them. "Well, it's just the way things are, you know? There's no reason you couldn't do the same if you applied yourself. I'm sure I could put in a good word for you--" Record emphatically signs "NO," reaching out to pinch their fingers together directly in front of Corrections' face; he recoils. "If this is what's important to you. Don't let me hold you back," they continue, still in sign. A single long panel, letterboxed by thick black borders to the left and right. Inside the left border a firefly flutters up and away, its light very small in the darkness. Inside the right border an earwig crawls under a rotting log, surrounded by dead leaves. "O-okay. I'll... um. I'll keep in touch." Corrections offers, weakly. ".....sure," Record manages to say aloud, voice wavering.
