The BONUS of meeting in Kingston meant that me and my #UWaterloo ladies could reunite for our 20 year friendiversary! I can’t believe 20 years ago I left northern Newfoundland and moved halfway across the country alone

Well, I can believe, I know myself and my persistence (or stubborness?) well!

How is summer already gone?! (yes, I know it’s not until later this month but once school’s back in session, I consider pumpkin spice lattes)

I did more work travel this summer than ever, kicked off by Physical Processes in Natural Waters, aka physical limnology aka physical oceanography in lakes

Lastly, #candaceLovesCupcakes highly recommends the #MaisonVillatte bakery in Falmouth MA (when visiting WHOI) for each and every meal

Then I headed to #universityOfMaine meeting with longterm @rocklandscientific.bsky.social customers

I loved running on the trails on UMaine's campus 🦌

For week 2, I headed to the Coastal Ocean Dynamics GRC in New London and presented work from our team! First time for me

We saw this cute LEGO float aquarium at WHOI and then I headed to see #Hefring; it's always great catching up with our integration partners

In June I did a “double” trip (I did customer visits immediately followed by a conference) to the east coast!

My colleague Nicolai (pictured at @whoi.edu 's Clark Lab) came with me and we caught up with folks at WHOI and #TeledyneWebbResearch

Major highlight of my job is getting to hang with folks from grad school and make new friends! Us industry folks are fortunate to run into each other pretty regularly on work trips, this time, I decided to try surfing (for the second time ever) and fortunately had experts to teach me

I’m so grateful that my chosen main exercise is running; it’s one of the few exercises I can do anywhere in the world by packing my running gear. Running in new cities/states/countries always give me the opportunity to explore new places

I LOVE San Diego/La Jolla especially when it’s gorgeously warm there and still wintery here in Halifax. Of course, I had to snap a pic of the iconic Scripps pier

FINALLY, for those of you who know me as @candaceLovesCupcakes, Sidney Bakery classic and chocolate donuts are not to be missed

It’s not me if it doesn’t involve social activities; I got to go on an amazing hike (no winter jacket outside in January?! hellooooo Victoria) with besties from grad school on the weekend AND I attended Rockland’s annual holiday party (somehow I have no selfies of that night?) 3/4

We did a photoshoot of one of our most impressive instruments, the VMP-6000
fun fact- it's the closest current turbulence solution that Rockland offers to the VMP I used in my MSc work!

Not only is it magnificent looking, it’s a very powerful platform for measuring turbulence deep in the ocean 2/n

I’m so grateful for what I do “it’s a fun job and I love it” I want to start sharing about what I do more!
