It was a gift to see Cheri live her life with pragmatism and a keen drive to make a difference, and one we shall cherish.
February 14, 2025 at 1:08 AM
In our Survivors as Teachers program, Cheri kept the medical students on their toes, and often on the edge of their seats, as she told her story. It was a privilege to listen in on her sessions and the lessons she so generously shared.

Working alongside Cheri was always a lesson in power. She understood deeply what it means to leverage our personal experiences into positive change. She fought for the individual dignity of each and every cancer patient and our right to make choices in our care.

Cheri contributed to many research projects which focused on evidence-based decision-making, the empowerment of patients in seeking clinical trials and developing therapies, and patient-centred care in clinical settings.

She was an admirable colleague and a loyal friend, and her commitment to improving cancer care was inspiring to those around her. She brought her remarkable research prowess to bear in her role as a consumer representative on boards and committees
