Editor’s note, somewhere along my cancer journey my sense of smell got mostly nullified making me an even easier target, but it used to happen before that as well.

I think it’s tragic and the social aspect would be a massive loss that would have to be made up for somehow, but our education system clearly needs some kind of major reboot/pivot. We may end up with a situation where all the “needy” kids are in-person and the rest flee online.

But this loud car thing is just so void of any additional value, info, insights, humour, depth of any kind. Perceived or actual.

I guess you may be right. Just so absurd. I mean as a young man I naturally wanted young ladies to notice me, but hopefully in a positive way rather than a “what a total doofus” way. 😂

Online learning during COVID meant my daughter lost much of the social interaction but neither she, nor the teacher had to deal with the constant disruptions and drain on resources related to dealing with the problem kids. It ended up being a better overall experience.

…which only worsens the situation. Ideally schools play a critical social role, but we’re losing control with a growing # of problem kids/parents ruining it for all. They need special support/segregation and aren’t getting it. It’s making me think online learning may be the future for many. Sad.

I have many close friends and family who are/were teachers. I have MASSIVE concerns about the CDN education system. Too often the inmates are now running the asylum. Teachers face frequent abuse and have few levers to deal with it. “Little Timmy/Suzie can do no wrong”. Good teachers are leaving….
