Really want to post new astrophotography pics...
Winter in Canada.
When it's close to or above freezing, there are clouds.
When it's -20°C it's clear, but heat from the city "mucks" up the skies.

2 hours of the Soul Nebula.
I used Siril, with Starnet Star Removal & streched the nebula & stars separately.
I'm just a partially color blind geek without a drop of "artistic" blood, but I like what came out of the process.

For Canadians, it's only Thursday, so hang in there. We're gonna make it to the weekend.

Post your current wallpaper.
I wish I had the skill to take pictures like this, but my eyes search for such scenery in the darkest spots.

Guess who's still lurking in our skies?
C/2023 A3 Tscuchinshan/Atlas
It's apparent magnitude is only 8.9 but only 25x20 sec exposures at ISO 200 and it'll say hello.

It's a star forming region a little over 9200 light years away. The reason it appears so big is it has a radius of about 48 light years.

When the full moon is not there, it seems like the clouds are always there 🤨
At any rate, I managed to grab the Phantom Galaxy, M74, for about 1h20. 300 × 20 sec exposure.
It's a very faint galaxy about 32 million light years from Earth.

A little Dwarf II telescope did it. All I did is point and download. 😆
