Mr.Rogers actually got his first television kids program in Canada "Misterogers".

Ernie Coombs was given his big break because he started as a puppeteer for Fred Roger's and when Fred went back to the USA he recommended they give Ernie Coombs his own show. They were friends.

Most Canadians live fully south of the U.S state of Washington. Canada's southernmost tip is further south the tip of Northern California and the majority of 16 entire U.S states ranging from Massachusetts to Oregon.
