What would happen if companies started controlling money?

During the fur trade, indigenous traders were often dependent on a small number of companies to trade with and supply them important goods. These companies had their own money which couldn't be exchanged for other types.

Can you ever have too much money? Imagine being rich, but unable to buy anything?

Liquidity is the ability to convert an asset - like money - into something else. Money is only valuable if you can spend it. Something to keep in mind when holding currency of either traditional or crypto varieties.
