Busy day at the Capitol! Hit education & banking committees, met constituents, and heard powerful voices from Moms Demand Action & Dunbar students on gun safety. Wrapped up with union solidarity and inspiring words from Gov. Beshear, Lt. Gov, Coleman & Rocky Adkins. Democracy in action! 🏛️​​​​​​​​​​​

Snowy Tuesday at the Capitol ❄️ I focused on finalizing bills before the deadline. Highlight: Session at the historic Old State Capitol! Ran into a high school friend and admired the beautiful architecture. If you haven't visited this gem (now the KY History Museum), add it to your list! 🏛️

My first appearance on Kentucky Tonight with Renee Shaw is in the books! We covered a wide range of topics from foster care to expanding reproductive healthcare to eliminating the diaper tax and more.

We had a robust conversation highlighted by an obvious desire to work together to move KY forward.

Visited God's Pantry this week. Incredible to see how they're providing hundreds of thousands of meals to KY families in need. With 10 of America's most food-insecure counties right here in our Commonwealth, their work matters more than ever. When communities come together, anything is possible.

A productive roundtable at Midway University on Jan 27, brought together the Central KY Legislative Caucus & Greater Lexington Regional Policy Group to address pressing regional challenges. One key issue is the lack of affordable housing and its impact on workforce development and retention efforts.

Today we pause to remember the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust, along with millions of others targeted by Nazi persecution. Their stories remind us that we must stand united against hatred and ensure such atrocities never happen again. May their memory be a blessing.

Grateful to the Lexington Nonprofit Coalition for an inspiring meeting today! As KY Nonprofit Caucus co-chair, I'm inspired by the incredible community champions who drive real change. These passionate nonprofit professionals are our community heroes, and I'm honored to support their vital work.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Dr. King reminds us that change begins with each of us. We honor his legacy through remembrance and action, standing up for justice, extending compassion to others.

I look forward to continuing my service on the Health Services Committee and excited about joining Banking & Insurance, Primary & Secondary Education Committees and the Public Pension Oversight Board during the 2025 Kentucky General Assembly!
