The ISI-Pro was treated to a triple act of Heather Panton (Labrys), David Kilby OBE (Strider Technologies), and Lady Moira Andrews (Visiting Professor at @warstudieskcl.bsky.social). Heather, David & Moira considered #innovation & regulatory issues in the #intelligence and national #security sector.

The ISI-Pro programme welcomed Dr Thomas Maguire (@unileiden.bsky.social) who presented on intelligence disclosure, and Dr Renad Mansour (@chathamhouse.org) who spoke about the evolving character of transnational conflict.

This morning, ISI-Pro heard from former UK Defence Attaché in Moscow, John Foreman CBE, on Putin’s war and UK-Russia relations. In the afternoon, Dr Dina Rezk and Gala Riani shared insights on analytical assumptions and the value of historical perspective in the Middle East.

Today we were honoured to hear from Andrew Borene of Flashpoint. His talk 'Preparing Business and Technology Leaders for a New Cold War' was an important contribution to the International Security & Intelligence Professional course. Thanks, Swede!

Capping off week 1 of our ISI-Pro course, delegates heard from @kcsi.uk members Professor Sir David Omand on managing slow burning crises & @drichterova.bsky.social on #Russian #sabotage. Concluding the day was a candlelit formal hall dinner at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

Our advanced ISI-Pro course continues with ISI core faculty lectures from the @kcsi.uk. Our delegates heard from Dr Nicola Leveringhaus on #Chinese #politics & #military posture, Prof Michael Goodman on #intelligence success & warning failure, & Dorothea Gioe on security dynamics in #Africa.

....and ISI Pro is off to the races! Day 1 featured a #keynote lecture from Lt Gen (Retd) Doug Chalmers, Master of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, on the continuing importance of hard #power followed by a #geopolitics tour de force by our chairman, Sir Richard Dearlove.
