Widespread story where I grew up was that he died of drug overdose. Surprise, surprise after this biography to learn he died of ALM (a type of skin cancer) at only 36yrs old.
Cancer is an organic cellular malfunction, some combination of genetics, and can just happen to ANYONE.

Loved the film though moderately received. Besides story line, also had impressive CGI. Cast was top-notch, likes of Cillian Murphy, Michelle Yeoh, Rose Byrne, Chris Evans, etc. These actors had to live together to create a tangible feeling onscreen that they all knew each other. Worth a re-watch 👍

Of course, young Michael Scofield (Dylan Christopher Minnette) is now a big boy 😊
