There will be no AI music and no preferential deals for major labels.

Our value proposition is not just better payments for artists. It is a fundamental reimagining of how streaming can serve the entire music ecosystem: fans, artists, independent labels, and music workers.

Campfire will feature music from artists and ethical record labels across the country, with scene-specific discovery that highlights local communities. The catalog will showcase the incredible diversity of independent music being made and give listeners new ways to connect with it.

The problem with music streaming is not the technology. It is the underlying economics and the lack of innovation for artists and fans. Our focus has been on research, coalition-building, and fundraising so that when Campfire launches, it will be positioned to stand apart.

Thanks to your support, we have raised nearly $15,000 in just over a month of crowdfunding. Along the way we have been growing a community of artists, fans, and community partners who believe streaming can be fair, transparent, and rooted in creativity.

We’ve been doing the groundwork through impact concerts, advocacy events, and artist interviews. In that time, we’ve identified what a better streaming model looks like: fair pay for artists, better social functionality for fans, authentic music discovery, and a strong user experience.

Alongside building a better streaming app, our mission includes education and dialogue. We believe artists and fans deserve more control and visibility. That’s why we’re creating content, hosting interviews, and building community through music-focused advocacy and storytelling.

We are currently fundraising and building our app towards a private beta release in the near future. Donate to our Indiegogo (link in bio) to get exclusive perks as an early beta user.

3) investing in artists so they have the time and resources to create,

and 4) educating the public about the importance of creativity and the preservation of the arts.
August 8, 2025 at 4:37 PM
This includes: 1) creating a Campfire atmosphere where multiple genres of music are offered with a loving spirit

2) building a digital streaming platform to provide music to the public while fairly compensating musicians for their labor,

Our mission is to advance art, music, education, and the creative interests of musicians by lowering the technological, monetary, and educational barriers to success in the music industry.

The nonprofit started by a group of college students at Georgetown a few years ago has since become a grassroots streaming initiative backed by artists, fans, and music advocates across the country.

Thank you to all our new followers for joining us on this journey. We’re just getting started.
