Our relationship with reading changes too, we could decide that we need a break for awhile or that we need to start reading more. We could decide that we actually like other genres, or that the trashy romance can be fun.

You could decide you don’t want the real thing right now and instead read a fanfiction because it will have exactly what you want (most of the time) or you could just decide that reading isn’t for you and you only want to watch tv shows / movies instead.

You could just start a book to immediately decide you are not going to continue it, you could read e-books because you don’t want the physical element of a book, you could have a book that you know your not in the right headspace to read yet.

You may read a short story and be sad that it wasn’t longer, you might devote yourself to a seemingly never ending series or you might read a book when you’re younger and think it’s the epitome of romance only to read it again and realise it written by Colleen Hoover.
