Today, the House unanimously passed 3 key bills to improve oversight, transparency, and accountability at CYFD, including HB5 to create the independent Office of the Child Advocate. New Mexicans are counting on us to deliver results for children and families this session.

After years of working together with workers, advocates, and local businesses, today the House passed a historic family and medical leave plan! This uniquely New Mexican plan will support workers and families in their time of need.

NM’s red flag law is already saving lives, and today, the House passed an update that will make it more effective. HB 12 would make it easier for law enforcement to temporarily suspend access to firearms for those deemed a threat to themselves or others.

Senate Bill 1, which passed the House today, and Senate Bill 3, which passed yesterday, will work together to expand behavioral healthcare access in New Mexico, so that when someone is struggling they can get the help they need, right away, and close to home.
