They count on you being scared to break the rules! More than anything else, they are counting on your decency and respect of procedure to paralyze you from doing the right thing lest you get called to the principal's office.

You have to learn to say fuck it and DO THE RIGHT THING

Washington is full of rule-following valedictorians who were inspired by the West Wing and did Model UN and moot court and studied their heroes and who believe in using government to help people.

That's nice, but you need to learn how to swing on the illiterate bullies who steal lunch money.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

DeepSeek hasn't removed a single joule of enthusiasm from fossil fuel companies and their plans to exploit AI hype to justify fossil fuel infrastructure

Their gas plans were never based on logic, efficiency, technology or real needs, and so DeepSeek fundamentally won't adjust their desires at all

OpenAI doesn't report a single number for its climate impacts - not anywhere, in any way, shape or form.

It sounds kind of obvious but the fact that a company with such incredible electricity hunger isn't disclosing basic information about its energy consumption and associated emissions is v bad..

A) use sunlight to drive photosynthesis in plants, let plants die, wait ~100 million years, dig up fossilized plants, burn plants, use heat to boil water, use steam to drive a rotating turbine, use generator to make electrons

B) use sunlight to make electrons
