Canadian reddits have been dealing with American liberals for a year and they can be... short-sighted. Most of them can't admit any collective responsibility or their imperialist history, so they resort to absolving themselves individually ("I didn't vote for this/I can't do anything else").

What I've seen makes me think it's real too. They crave connection or meaning so bad and the LLMs provide no help on how to get it in a healthy way. I'm so glad that other people are starting to notice it as well. I've seen some really concerning stuff on these subreddits/discord servers.
