Epstein gave feedback on well known cosmologist Lawrence Krauss' response to a BuzzFeed News reporter's questions re: a claim that Krauss' had sexually harrassed someone at an Australian Skeptics event while a professor at ANU (these allegations have been reported in the media)

Elisa New, a Harvard poetry/lit professor and wife of former Treasury secretary Larry Summers, wrote an email in 2018 to Epstein telling him that she was going to read "my copy of Lolita" (!) on the plane to Australia

Epstein texting someone on the second 2018 Liberal Party spill that saw Malcolm Turnbull ousted for Scott Morrison saying "you had a win in austrailia anti immigration"

Epstein was texting with someone (potentially Steve Bannon?) who said "The Australian Cardinal could be the worst" on the day that George Pell was convicted of sexually abusing two choir boys

ex prime minister Paul Keating's daughter Katherine Keating emailed people including Epstein to promote her dad's book of speeches. The pair had a back and forth afterwards

Scoop: Meta's (formerly Facebook) Messenger app is set to be in the teen social media ban, accidentally!

Despite the government saying messaging apps will be excluded, the app won't be able to have <16 users because of the law's drafting and the way the platform works.

I missed that Communications Minister Anika Wells said that kids talking on social media about plans to get around the teen ban will be picked up by the platforms as a signal that they are under 16.

In an Australia first, I used FOI to get the AI chat logs of Australia's top national security bureaucrat.

They show how he used Microsoft Copilot to ghostwrite speeches and messages to colleagues.

This comes as the government looks to push AI use in the public service.

I wrote in the Sizzle how it turns out giving the government free reign to use your company's cameras as warrantless surveillance machines used by ICE will get backlash - even from police!

(fun fact: the camera-maker, Flock, reportedly counts a NSW government agency as a customer)

A new group led by Libertarian Party NSW MLC John Ruddick says they are "working with counsel" to file a High Court challenge to the teen social media ban, claiming that it infringes on our constitutionally implied right to freedom of political expression.

it never gets old that there's an official government agency going around auditing bakeries to see if they're measuring "bread and baked goods" correctly.... and turns out rightly so! 1/5 of those bakery bastards are crooks

NEW: What could we have instead of Australia's teen social media ban?

A lot of the debate on the ban has framed it as ban vs nothing. But there's plenty of options for improving online safety for young people.

Here's 5 alternative ideas (which we can still do) www.crikey.com.au/20...

Amid a teen social media ban standoff, Google is using the most visited page by Aussies — Google search — to promote the YouTube's benefits for kids.

The company wouldn't say if it's the mystery group who has engaged a top constitutional law expert for advice on the ban.

First, the ICC's chief investigator says he was blocked from his Microsoft-hosted email after US sanctions. Now, this
