It’s my favorite of 2025. The way people weaponized their lives, careers and identities against one another in the face of fear was well written. Cregger’s ability to make the suburbs feel like a hostile, isolating environment to all who live in it is also so on point. It’s brilliant.

Thanks for this. As a guy who also lacks manhood (I don’t really care about being a “man”) and was bullied pretty hard in school, I still have a healthy relationship with and respect for women in my social and work life.

Fellow NOLA person here - I don’t know you and I don’t say this out of pity but rather sad-season-camaraderie: I enjoy your posts and you seem like a nice person. I don’t know much about sports ball these days but if you ever want someone to talk to or listen, I’m around.

They asked me, very nicely, to not wait for a police report and to not go through insurance. They told me they would pay for the value of my repairs. Welp, later I find out my car was totalled and they were like, “lol idk what you’re talking about.” So always wait for the police report.

An eighteen-wheeler didn't stop at a stop sign and now I'm the one who went into 20k debt. To be fair, I could have sued for tens of thousands of dollars, but I didn't want the driver to get fired. He got fired anyway. It's a bummer. Lesson is: ALWAYS sue when you get pounded by an 18-wheeler.

I mean, maybe objectively evil at this point? I know this is a reduction of her argument but the whole “he had sex with 15 yo’s, that’s not THAT bad. He only handed them over to his friends when they were 18, that’s not THAT bad” thing she said was rough to listen to.

And you think, “oh clearly per capita right? because like China is like, so big.” But you’d be wrong. Raw number and per capita, we have more people incarcerated than any other country.

I agree with you on everything except the word “inaction.” They are taking action by siding with the tech lobby. They are actively voting against the American people.

Jazz III’s are cool but I find strumming anything more than 3 strings at a time to feel “chunky” and slow. (Which CAN be a good thing if that’s what I’m looking for.) I like them most for practicing precision and intention, then I swap to a “normal” pick when I get the part down.

I look at the fretboard when I’m first learning a chord. But I work on the “muscle memory” of my fingers learning where they should go to get that chord sound so I don’t need to look. Then I work on how my fingers can get to that chord shape from other chord shapes. I repeat that HUNDREDS of times.

Indulgences have existed long before capitalism. I’d have to check on the dates but probably more so mercantilism. Maybe even earlier than that. Also it should be mentioned that Marx does not believe money is bad - he thought it had many uses - but that capital should be in the hands of proletariat.
