This is so cool, cannot wait to watch. And great work as always!

If it was something like you fail too many calls and wind up losing a team member or you cut someone and later Robert ends up in situation where he needed that specific person, I'd understand where people are coming from so much more with the GOTY talk.

The big decision in episode 3 appears to affect the dispatching in episode 4, but if you chose the opposite option you'd have the same thing happen. It's a game about choices that has so little player agency.

As far as I can tell, you could set the controller down for most of the dispatch sessions and your story would be unaffected. It's not a matter of choices in story affect the dispatching, dispatching affects the story.

Absolutely. I know Telltale games would all get you to the same point by the end but the choices in like TWD S01 did feel emotionally impactful and would stay with you. In this I felt like all your choices left you with the same emotion. It wasn’t does someone live or die, it was red or blue.

I get that on paper, but it always stood out to me when the game was forcing problems to happen and I understood I was meant to be doing a bit worse, it made me feel like a bystander. And once I clued in that failing or succeeding didn’t ultimately seem to impact the story, it felt disconnected.

I don’t want it to sound like I’m down on this thing, it’s one of my favourite “games” this year. But I feel like if this was season 1 of a show it’d be one of my favourite shows this year, and by not being interactive they could really commit to long term character development.

I like the Dispatching, I didn’t need it in this. It felt like I was tuning in to watch Invincible every week but every so often it would pause to get me to play a puzzle game. Two good things, but the show I was watching wouldn’t be any worse if the puzzle wasn’t there.

Every time I see something kinda interesting come to mobile that needs a controller I wonder why on earth it isn’t on Steam/Switch and I feel like the craziest monetization you could imagine being normalized on mobile is part of it

I also like these characters a lot and want to see their stories & relationships continue, but I don’t think sequels to this type of thing usually handle that well. The strongest relationships you make, positive or negative, end up feeling unimportant in follow ups.

A lot of the choices seem to get you back to the same place, almost immediately. Which is expected, but you see it even in the way people respond in dialogue where it only really makes sense for one of the 3 options.

The game was at its most enjoyable when I was just watching it and when I was Dispatching I was waiting for the Dispatching to be over so I could go back to the ”show“ I was enjoying. The team quips during that were fun but also would work just as well in a dispatching montage.

I liked it otherwise too, and I’m cool with the idea during the game when things are setup to fail, but it was driving me insane they gave so much time and yet the signal part itself just seemed broken in the last episode.

I know the SD uses RAM as VRAM, but I need 32 regardless and I don’t know if dualbooting windows it can dynamically share RAM and VRAM

It's possible but there was already going to be some drawbacks I was willing to work around if it generally worked for what I need it to do for me.

I was not thinking about RAM, 16GB would not be enough. Definitely disappointing.

I don't think so, I'm guessing that front square is just removable.

I briefly was using my PC more than consoles in like 2019-2020, but eventually got kinda fed up with it in a lot of different ways. But I really love my Steam Deck, I like booting it up and it's just that SteamOS interface, no Windows bullshit with all kinds of things fighting for my attention.
