Another day, another Iron Age broch. This time, Dun Beag, on a commanding hill overlooking the valley.
September 5, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Visited Dun Telve and Dun Troddan Iron Age brochs, built ~2000 years ago and some of the best preserved buildings of their type. The Scottish weather was not with me today, but it was atmospheric.

Into an Iron Age souterrain, a subterranean storeroom. Narrow and cramped and muddy as anything.

The land and seascape of Skye never fails to take my breath away.

Visited the set of the new Spiderman movie filming in Glasgow at the moment. Watched an armoured personnel carrier roar down the road, but no sign of Tom Holland. Lots of kids in Spiderman costumes though :)

Out for a wander in the meadows and happened upon these fine fellows, who consented to stay still long enough to be photographed. There was another big brown lad the size of a bird that was way too swift.
July 11, 2025 at 9:17 AM
Visited the Temple of Mithras along Hadrian's Wall. A bit of a traipse through fields of suspicious sheep to get there but worth the visit to see how it was built and used.
