At a dark time for Ukrainians, it was moving as ever to come together, despite the rain, for a rally to show support for Ukraine and to call for Russia to end its brutal invasion. At the end of every rally, we sing the Ukrainian national anthem - this Saturday with accompaniment!

Lovely to visit Beth Shalom Synagogue for their 20th Mitzvah Day, celebrating community and encouraging interfaith cooperation - with Bollywood dancing, saxophone, electronic music, cakes and more!

A heartening example of diversity and tolerance at a time when many are looking to stoke division

A moving ceremony this morning at the war memorial to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of people in our armed forces and emergency services, and all those who have died in war, up to and including the present day.

It was brilliant to be at Abbey Leisure Complex yesterday to celebrate the official opening of the new 3G pitch. We know just how important sports and exercise can be in helping people to lead a happy, healthy life. We're very grateful to the Football Foundation for their generous support.

Lovely to attend the Cambridge Street Pastors AGM at St Andrew's Church last night and hear about the fantastic work that they do to keep people safe at night in the city centre.

It was lovely to attend the official opening of the Cherry Hinton Hub this morning - it's taken a fantastic effort by so many in the local community over so many years to get this off the ground, and I'm proud that the City Council has put £1.6m behind this great community project.

Visit to Parliament today representing @camcitco.bsky.social on a panel discussing 'A Case for Cities in Local Government Reorganisation and Devolution'.

Navigating the Cambridge rental market is hard, and far more so if you're newly arrived in the UK or English isn't your first language. This book reports on a project by @pomocorguk.bsky.social to understand the experiences of migrants trying to find a home in Cambridge.

Lovely morning out talking to residents in Newnham, supporting them with a wide range of issues, including broken fences, Council Tax and pest control.

Today I picked up my copy of a very special book! 'Cambridge Stands with Ukraine' has been produced by attendees of the regular King's Parade protests, which have now been taking place for three and a half years.

It was great to take part in a wide-ranging and lively discussion on homelessness at The Cambridge Room yesterday evening. It was particularly powerful to hear from Kerrie and Kacper about their experiences of homelessness.

It was great to attend the North Newnham Residents' Association AGM last night to residents' views on a wide range of local issues, and to give some updates on the work of the City Council and upcoming transport schemes. As ever, I was very impressed by the NNRA's thoughtful and detailed approach.

Great to be out canvassing in Coleridge yesterday, including talking to lots of council tenants. I'm always keen to hear from people across the city about the issues affecting them and what more we can do to help.

Lovely cycle on the Chisholm Trail this afternoon between meetings

The world today is a frightening place, and we're seeing a very worrying rise in anti-immigrant sentiment.

But it's been moving and inspiring to spend time this weekend with people fleeing war, persecution and natural disasters, and the many people welcoming and supporting them in Cambridge.

I attended three fantastic events today: the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival; re-opening of the expanded Logan's Meadow wetlands; and The Big Lunch.

All exemplified our values as a diverse, welcoming city that cares about protecting and restoring nature, tackling inequality and empowering communities.

Yesterday morning, I joined residents, council officers and fellow councillors to discuss some exciting proposals for new play equipment at Lammas Land. Looking forward to seeing the new equipment in use before too long!

This afternoon, I joined and spoke at Cambridge4Ukraine's rally. I've been attending these rallies since the start of the full-scale invasion, over three years ago, and their call to stop the war and help Ukrainians to live in peace is as powerful and urgent now as it ever has been.

Great to see a good turnout for this evening's engagement session about our investment in the Corn Exchange, Market Square and Guildhall. I particularly liked this board, which shows how resident feedback has informed the plans so far

It was great to attend and speak at today's Europe Day Rally. I was particularly moved by Nana Sutton and Anna Chop's speeches, reminding us how Georgians and Ukrainians are fighting for democracy and freedom every day.

Thank you to Cambridge for Europe for organising the event!

It was lovely to join CamCRAG and the Women's Homelessness Action Group today to celebrate the funds they raised at the recent CamCRAG fair.

Great to see refugee and homelessness charities working together, supporting people both in Cambridge and much further afield

A great turnout at today's Ukraine rally on King's Parade. The message from many of the speakers: listen to Ukrainians and give them the support they need

It was an honour to speak last night at the Cambridge rally to mark three years since Russia's full-scale invasion, alongside hundreds of Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine.

It was lovely to join council officers yesterday to plant a 'Princeton Upright' Japanese Pagoda Tree on Lammas Land. I learnt a lot about trees and all the work that our the team do to keep them healthy!
