Fun fact, the inimitable Cara Gee reads the audiobook of My Heart is a Chainsaw and it is so incredibly good. Love to end a smart, gripping horror novel crying my eyes out.

Comedian Tim Dillon said on his podcast last month that he signed up for financial reasons. He said he had been offered "a large sum of money" — $375,000 for one performance — and said that other comedians had been offered as much as $1.6 million. He told his detractors to "get over it," adding, "So what if they have slaves, they're paying me enough to look the other way." But in an episode of the Tim Dillon Podcast last week, the comedian announced he'd been removed from the lineup for the comments he made about the country's record on slavery. (NPR reached out to Saudi's General Entertainment Authority for verification, but has not yet heard back.) "I addressed it in a funny way and they fired me," Dillon said on his podcast. "I certainly wasn't gonna show up in your country and insult the people that are paying me the money."

Who’s making & selling these beds? Who’s maintaining them? Who’s manufacturing the (pharmaceutical) consumables they’d need?

And why would Big Wellness ever be less predatory than Big Pharma?

I just… “my patients give consent” is not good enough. How well do they understand the tech involved? How empowered do they feel to say no to a doctor requesting this? How expansive is his explanation of what this entails?

It’s true that there’s a lot of discussion in the left about women getting laid. An awful lot of that is about heterosexual women! It’s a conversation that is dense with information men interested in sex with women might find useful.
And where is the counter-narrative? The progressive left seemingly has no opinion on men getting laid. It has opinions on everything else. It has opinions on women getting laid (good for them), it has opinions on toxic masculinity (bad) and it has opinions on gender equality (there should be more of it). But it is completely silent on the subject of men getting laid - which, generally speaking, they are very interested in doing, and will continue to be interested in regardless of whether progressives want to talk about it. So the stage has been left entirely clear for the far-right to set the narrative, which it has done with devastating effect, monopolising young men's obsession with sex to spread a vicious fictitious storyline about power and identity.

Striking that no mention is made of the distress that has arisen directly FROM witnessing the “conflict” (read: genocide). The activists are animated by ???; the emotions that matter are those of their critics.
All four contextual observations in the report linked by OP (p. 1). Para 5 has been highlighted, and reads: “There has been a marked increase in antisemitic behaviour, and the activism and protests that have arisen out of the conflict in the Middle East have undoubtedly caused great distress for many members of the university community.”
