The proposed diagonal is a permissible move that way. One of the advantages of having cycles on the inside.

Yes, Cyclops (invented in Manchester) has the cycles on the outside whereas this proposed junction has pedestrians on the outside like some in Waltham Forest - hence our quotes on 'Cyclops'. Both are 'circulating cycle stage' junctions. And could loosely be called Dutch style.

I had to look up what a sharrow was, and that just seems very confusing. A bicycle symbol should mean a cycle lane, nothing else. Cyclists shouldn’t need a symbol to tell them to take the lane where needed—the UK Highway Code rule 72 specifically advises it in most cases.
