LNP have told us exactly what they’ll do if they’re elected this year.

Elect Dutton.
Get Trump.

So Europe is ramping up defence manufacturing to free themselves from dependence on the US. They are going to want big contracts to underpin capacity and create a reliable pipeline. Imagine what we could get if we said, say, "What'll you give us for $368bn?". Deal. Of. The. Century.

Guess what? The NACC should've investigated the robodebt 6 all along..... Now they've been forced to, does anyone actually think this will be a fair process? Brereton should resign. This is beyond embarrassing. www.nacc.gov.au/news-and-med...

Top idea - nationalise Rex, and keep rural air travel alive. But also... Step 2: get real competition across the sky. Remember: Sydney/Melbourne is the most lucrative route in the world, & with a duopoly there is no competition on price and sure as s*** no competition on quality or reliability.
Regional airline Rex could become next national carrier
The federal government could throw a lifeline to Rex Airlines if a potential buyer isn't prepared to commit to providing value and ongoing regional services.

When the Business Council of Australia starts honking on about labour flexibility & red tape, remember 40% of their members, including Coles, CBA, BHP, and Qantas have engaged in wage theft, costing workers billions. And maybe think- why don't the media ask the difficult questions?
Five ways the Business Council could lift Australian prosperity
The Business Council wants to talk about Australian prosperity (again). There are definitely some ways it could help lift it.

Easy to say when you run a party that has less than one third of its MPs who are women.... (also nice to know that anyone who isn't a white bloke doesn't count as Australian.... quiet bit out loud much?)

In case you missed it... Sydney-Melbourne is the most lucrative air route in the world. One with the no real competition. No-one in government has any interest in stopping Aussies getting fleeced. No passengers' charter, no options, no levies, no limits on rent seeking.

Not only is the under 16 social media ban a vibe-tastic moral panic, cutting young people off may in fact harm their mental health. To quote an actual researcher: young people with phones "that can connect with the internet, if they have high-speed internet at home, their wellbeing is higher."

What's worse: hurting the fee-fees of a multi-billionaire or systematically and criminally hacking phones, spreading disinformation in the cloak of 'journalism', stoking culture wars to drive profit and using media power as a rent-seeking business model. Wait - I get it. Its the first isn't it?

"In 2023–24, Australian governments provided $14.5 billion in subsidies to coal mines, oil and gas operations and major fossil fuel users. This is equal to $27,581 for every minute of every day of the year, more than is spent on the army or the air force." Worse than bonkers.
