Quite sad to take down my Craven Faults exhibition this weekend but it had a good run in 2024!

I'm particularly proud of the map display 🤩

Blown away by this exhibition at Gallery Oldham yesterday - a 1950s British birds handbook with every species which is threatened or endangered greyed out...

Such a simple way to get across a very powerful message!

It was great to visit the museum at Creswell Crags earlier this week 🦣

We were there to see the collections but it was a beautiful winter's day so we had to go for a walk around the gorge as well! It is such a spectacular place!

Something from my recent Sedgwick Museum trip for #FossilFriday...

All fossils in museums have an associated human story. I'd be very intrigued to know this one!

Fantastic to be back in Cambridge this week, catching up with old friends both fossil and human!

I am a huge fan of:

- hidden stories in museum collections
- digital preservation and digitisation
- the importance of social history archives for natural history research
- fossils, especially whales, marine reptiles, sharks, and Ice Age cave faunas!

I'm also a palaeontologist with a PhD in the evolution and ecology of marine vertebrates (ichthyosaurs, mosasaurs, whales and dolphins)

This is the magnificent skull of an ichthyosaur called Temnodontosaurus on display at Banz Castle in Germany 😍

Hello new followers!

I'm a member of the collections team at the Museum of North Craven Life in the Yorkshire Dales (also known as the Folly). Its a beautiful place to work!

I'm working on a project aiming to better understand our collections and connect them with our local communities

I'm pleased to announce that I have a new job - for the next 6 months I will be the Collections Assistant for Natural History at Gallery Oldham!

They have an amazing collection, and I am very happy that it includes an ichthyosaur #FossilFriday

I finally made it over to Blue Sky! Hello! 👋

I'm a palaeontologist and museum freelancer, working in public engagement and natural history collection curation. I recently finished my PhD looking at convergent evolution in ichthyosaurs, mosasaurs, and cetaceans.
