I watch my thoughts
through thin and thick

elusive and quick
moving faster than the eye
can perceive
before I even try to glimpse
they take their leave

sound washed away by the waves
my skin, cooled by ocean winds
I feel completely alone beneath the crowd
I tell myself when the sun sets I will return to humanity
but I fear that when that time comes there will be none left
so I wait and watch the light extinguish
