Lot of companies are about to learn the cost of taking any client on, no matter their hideousness. They don't often do something so publically egregious as ICE has done so the companies don't get called out for it.

Are you quoting what I yell at every playoff overtime game where suddenly the players are all play Lady Byng style hockey, according to refs?

Excellent writing, as usual.

The Radio Rwanda example is so chilling and is why I am so worried about the next few years. People still think things won't get too far and I try to use that as an example of what happens when you paint your opponents as subhuman.

Why? Let the next GM make that decision........

I did my best to avoid the video. I accidentally saw it in a feed today and it made my sick in my stomach. Anyone justifying that has to have their eyes checked.

@paulisci.bsky.social an early contender?
January 5, 2026 at 7:31 AM
You're very lucky to not have accidentally posted on any lightly or un-moderated game forum in the last 7 or 8 years. It is fucking insane and this is exactly what this reminds me of.

Just comical. And losing McGroarty because we wouldn't let him play a couple games is hilariously dumb by this logic.
January 4, 2026 at 8:35 PM
This will be even worse than it sounds. All companies will basically be forced to "advertise" to not get shit on by the chatbots in favour of their competitors. If govts missed the boat on regulating social media, they better not miss this.

By this thinking, wpild Iginla have been left off the 2002 team since it was his first huge breakout year and he started the tourney in the bottom 6? Hawerchuk in 87 was on the grinder line with Tocchet. Lol. The logic of the role thing is wild.
December 30, 2025 at 11:39 PM
It sure feels like 95% of the posts there are fake. People just trying to make up the weirdest situations.

I always think of Friedman describing him as an extremely hard negotiator ("grinds" them in Friedman parlance) with young players many times over the years and then discussion in recent years about why they had trouble holding on to young players.

Our draft and develop model hasn't developed anyone in about 8 years, so do we even have that as a model? Lol
December 14, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Hahaha. A friend had an exchange with a South African student in uni. They arrived in Winnipeg in January in a flimsy wind breaker. Oops.
December 10, 2025 at 3:37 PM
It never really was, unless we added scoring in the off-season. We ended up doing the opposite of that.
December 7, 2025 at 3:58 AM
It should be illegal to dress Schenn and Stanley in the same game.

Brilliant. Clever move from a distinguished former........talk radio host.

Comrie has been decent this year so if he continues, this will be a good view of how good/bad the Jets roster actually is without elite goaltending but not tanked by bad goaltending. Then Helle returns and we have am honest view of our needs. But that's a best case scenario........
November 21, 2025 at 4:48 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if a majority supported it. But I bet also never think about this issue other than when a pollster asks. Aka it has zero impact on their vote. So polling on it is irrelevant. It is about taking away rights for no good reason.
November 19, 2025 at 1:11 AM
A certain section of us Jets fans want him to hit 80 or 90 this year just to make clear how mgmt wasted his prime giving more minutes to standouts like.....Mason Appleton.

I mean, there is a fair bit to criticize in the budget, but where is the data for the $5.7 million net worth figure? Statscan says median net worth age 65+ is 738k and average 65+ household is about 1.2 million.

And as usual, great writing - "one of the songs we sing ourselves" is quite a line.
November 5, 2025 at 11:43 PM
Glad you wrote about it. I hadn't heard of it yet.
