Honoured to announce I've been chosen as SNP candidate for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale for the 2026 election, with an incredible 83.5% of votes cast.

Unlike some parties, in The SNP it's local branch members who decide the candidate they want. That means we get people like @calumkerr.bsky.social - who care about our communities, not when the next plane back to London is leaving.

A great win for Peebles at the Selkirk U16 7s yesterday. A fantastic, well run tournament (including great catering) saw Peebles edge a thrilling final against the hosts 26-19. Well done to the Peebles boys, the other players, the officials and everyone involved.

Important to note, following her endorsement of me in the selection contest to be her successor, that Christine Grahame still has a year as our MSP, and it's very much business as usual! 👇

Honoured to receive Christine's endorsement. With my parliamentary experience as an MP and Shadow Minister, combined with over 25 years in business and 14 years as a voluntary Charity director, I'm ready to help lead Scotland forward during these challenging post-Brexit times.

Great news for the Borders. From my own experience Christine has been a great MSP and it would be fantastic to benefit from Calum's skills and experience in Holyrood and locally 👍

Honoured to receive David Black's endorsement in Penicuik!

As former branch Convenor for 9 years, his recognition of my community work & independence commitment means a lot. Grateful for his support in my SNP candidate bid for Midlothian South, Tweeddale & Lauderdale.

The best of luck Calum with the hustings. It would be great to see you back and representing us again, albeit from Holyrood. We also greatly appreciate your support to keep Channelkirk and six other nurseries open. Ideally we could help reopen some of the other 35 across Scotland closed illegally.

Proud to be in the SNP process for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale.

With deep local roots and parliamentary experience, I offer both local understanding and national perspective.

The 2026 Holyrood election is critical for Scotland's future and independence.

A fantastic evening at the Tweeddale Burns Supper in Eddleston on Friday! Proud to follow @johnswinney.bsky.social Immortal Memory, with my Toast to the Lassies. Superb reply from @mareetodd.bsky.social, and our formidable local MSP Christine Grahame gave the Toast to Scotland.

Back from attending a moving, fitting Memorial Service for Alex Salmond.

A favourite saying of his was that independence was not a lost cause but a cause as yet unwon. On this day the best and enduring tribute which I feel we can pay to him is our collective rededication to winning that prize.
