I’ve watched “Conclave” and I’m convinced the reason given by the filmmakers to turn the character of Filipino cardinal Vincent Benitez into a Mexican— that they couldn’t find a suitable Filipino actor — is nonsense. John Arcilla would have been perfect for the role.

This is what a (young) calamansi tree looks like in the Philippines. We use the fruit for juicing and on certain Filipino dishes. One such dish, kinilaw (fish ceviche), won't be the same without it. It is much more popular than lemon and lime so calamansi is also the de facto substitute for either.
