We hear how AI will assist us by doing all the mundane, tedious parts of our jobs leaving us more time to purse the more high level creative stuff. Let's be real, for most people, if you remove the mundane and tedious from their work, what's left? Time to start talking about shorter working weeks.

Don't get me wrong: I have grave concerns about AI and I'm becoming increasingly pessimistic. I just think there are underlying issues, lack of transparency being a big one. For example, historically, governments/nations have been tools for very powerful individuals and businesses.

I guess the argument here is, is AI causing people to behave in a particular way, or merely facilitating individual/societal predilections that already exist? If the latter, and this behaviour is of concern, then the onus must surely be on addressing the cause of said predilections.

Give us the tragic stories of the individuals who lost their lives.
Stop turning people into statistics.
