That’s not how it works when the show is on a worldwide streaming service made for a multibillion dollar company. Once you put work out for public consumption for profit it can be critiqued by anyone. If that’s not something someone is ok with, they should just share their work for fun with friends

All the other people she was focusing on were uninjured too, aside from Emily who was waaay more ok than Lucifer and Alastor since she was standing up on her own smiling and the were both bleeding on the floor nearly unconscious!

What do you mean something else happened? The only thing that happened is that the giant TV with Sir Pentious came on. If she was distracted from tending to her bleeding nearly unconscious dad when she was right next to him because a tv came on she is a bit selfish yes

Yeah and if something isn’t in the show it isn’t canon anyway. She can’t just come on BlueSky every time she needs to explain away another big plot hole or describe something really important that totally happened just off screen! It’s either in the show or it isn’t

Yuuup! 100% And Star wasnt well written in the last few seasons I will be totally open to acknowledging that too because I’m an adult and I can critique the writing choices/have big issues with fiction I watch and still like parts of it! Thanks for asking!

Establishing a character’s entire belief system to hang on a single idea born from their own traumatic experiences then upending those views 180 and not showing their reaction to that, like it’s not even important, is just poor writing I’m afraid

Every show with poor writing choices is because of the writer’s preference sure. That doesn’t make it a valid choice when it badly undercuts other things the show is trying to accomplish or want us to care about

Remember it was a huge part of his character that he was desperately worried Charlie would be hurt caring about this as much as he did when it seemed futile? Was him being held up by Charlie to see the first ever redeemed sinner not plot important either. Could both things not have happened at once

I don’t think anyone wanted you to dedicate runtime to kissing his boo boos Viv…I think they just wanted Charlie to be shown caring a bit more that her dad was in pain and maybe a single second to see Lucifer’s reaction to finding out redemption is possible on the jumbo screen right in front of him?

And I’m not angry. Me having an opinion on the show thats not positive doesnt make me angry. But this isn’t Amazon’s fault either. Good writers need to write for the constraints they have from day 1, but they made the choice to over stuff things with plot and not leave room for emotional payoffs

I don’t need Lucifer to get a major focus, I’m not a big fan of his character. But when you set up a huge part of his character’s emotional state due to having his pleas to heaven fall on deaf ears and then you have the proof he was right up on the jumbotron, not showing him react isnt good writing

I donated to the art streams before the pilot so I’m willing to bet I’ve been a hazbin fan before most of the people here. My fan account is on twitter I just moved to bluesky and it just happens to be at the same time I have issues with the writing now. I haven’t said anything inflammatory

It was just a hypothetical comparison lol I’m saying it doesnt make sense for Charlie to just leave him while he’s still in pain and injured just because he’s not dying! That’s my opinion on this scene. I think it could have been done better

Except her friend wasnt killed he was redeemed. She knew that at the end of ep1. You would think this would be a really important moment for Lucifer and Charlie to share since it’s a huge part of his story that heaven wouldnt listen to him about anything and here’s a redeemed sinner on the jumbotron

I don’t know why you think that concern needs to only be shown for characters that are literally dying.
He’s still bleeding through his torn clothes at the end! And when its a family member is it too much to ask for concern they’re in pain and not fully conscious. I think it’s a very simple thing

Lucifer on his own would be one thing but the problem is that Charlie hasn’t shown much in the way of consideration for anyone around her all season, something that was supposed to be resolved in ep6. So this is just a continuation of that theme
