You watched the latest Tifo football podcast?

Again I’m not looking for a formation change. I’m looking for in game management. That he sees what happening with an opposition and say tweaks the press or instruct one of players to do a job in order for us to turn a game around. As you’ll know way better than there is more tactics than formation
September 15, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Yea seen on X but do you think Ruben has been adaptable during games when a tactical tweak or a substitute (other than Maguire a striker) has dramatically change or impact a game?
September 15, 2025 at 4:31 PM
Again I would slightly disagree as we found out with Quenda with Chelsea
September 15, 2025 at 3:52 PM
I agree with Garancho situation. I wouldn’t say ‘very’ with Mainoo. My problem is also with Ruben not being adaptable not from in terms of formation more tactical. I don’t really rate his in game tactical changes. I think Alex from Tifo said it well here
September 15, 2025 at 3:50 PM
I just don’t think it’s the right direction from a squad building point of view it leaves open for again very high turnover of players if it goes dramatically wrong with Ruben. We’ve sold Garancho, Mainoo is unhappy. Isolating the most young talent players for such a specific system just isn’t wise
September 15, 2025 at 3:44 PM
So again you at director you’re left with a choice of going out buying specific wingbacks that if this system fails leaves you with very limited manager pool from a system perspective or you have to convince wingers to come play wingback. I do not mind being 15th for the sake of long term.
September 15, 2025 at 3:42 PM
From a sporting director point of view. There is no evidence to say that Ruben way is what you should plan long term for. It’s like what you also touch on during the pod today you don’t buy players for a specific manager then you also said for this system to work you need specific wingbacks.
September 15, 2025 at 3:40 PM
I don’t want to throw a simple term but playing your best player (Bruno) in his best position surely helps the team? Also is Mainoo inability to cover ground as bad in 4-2-3-1 as it would be in a 3-4-3? I understand building for the long term and I agree I just don’t think it’s the right direction.

Was that on the latest pod?

@hemmenkees.bsky.social @amoniz.bsky.social you didn’t mention why you’re both against Gyökeres? Age, fit? Expensive?
June 3, 2025 at 12:29 PM
25 million is abit harsh. United brought & sold Dan James for that. But yes far from ideal.
May 26, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Rumoured to be £50m. Again judging from the episode you prefer someone like Cherki over. Hopefully in the coming episodes you’ll mention potential incomings
May 26, 2025 at 2:34 PM
@amoniz.bsky.social @hemmenkees.bsky.social judging from this podcast episode you’re both not happy with the rumoured links to Mbeumo?
May 26, 2025 at 2:17 PM
I’d be more okay if it was £45m rather than £62.5m. Like mention I’d be keen to get your thoughts on Delap. Not my first choice but does tick those 5 boxes
May 24, 2025 at 3:22 PM
I can see that. With Cunha you seem to use similar metrics I’ve discussed for signings
- Age (below 26)
- Injury Record
- Physicality
- Value/(do not pay over £50m on anyone player)
- Wages

You hit all these 5 the signings I will be happy with even if they don’t work out at United
May 24, 2025 at 3:19 PM
@amoniz.bsky.social just to add I agree to disliking the signing of Cunha on this point as well as your previous
May 24, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Appreciate this point but you and Kees have focus a lot around the tactical side of the game over the years (as a listener and a fan of the podcast) sometimes forgetting the intangibles both players have rumoured to be toxic so it’s time to go
May 24, 2025 at 3:11 PM
Liam Delap?
