I don't know how this ended up on my feed, but I'm glad it did!

I don't know much about painting, but I think it's gorgeous!

Even though I don't think I've been anywhere near the location of the painting, it feels comfortingly familiar.

[Verse]

If I'm obsessed about the future, at least I've got some property.

Look at me with frosted eyes, the drug den dehydrating you.

Above the clouds and in the ether, help me start to cleanse alone.

Far beyond the divinest sins I sublimit the mind, a see through soul.

Twenty years we live this life, like we've been boost up to prophecise.

[Chorus]

[Verse]
String of uncertain floss, stream like our jaunts to Mars.
For twenty years we'll live this way with essence so sweet lighting me.

I'd never understood why people were fans of bands and not just songs until I found Spray.

Turns out my musical taste is just very, very specific.

It's been a tough old year for me mentally, but the music from Spray has genuinely lifted me out of many a mental pit.

So for that, thank you.

I had never heard of Spray at this point, but I am bloody glad that I didn't just listen to that one song and never explore the rest of their music.

In the words of my partner - "Spray's music sounds like it was written exclusively for you. It is EVERYTHING that you love in music."

I'm not gonna lie, with the way the vocals were placed in the mix, combined with some pretty interesting word choices, it took an age. Then I found it.

The video which made me cry with joy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNTR...

A LIVE version of my all-time favourite song! I didn't care if it was short!

There's something about that track that just hits my brain in the most satisfying way. The instrumentation, the samples, the vocals, and the vibe all lift me up whenever I need a boost.

And that's when I got curious - I never found the lyrics for the song, so I started trying to transcribe them.

Life moved on for a few years, I ended up forgetting all about the music until about 8 months ago. I was orginising some folders and I saw Fluorescent sitting there, so I listened to it and got goosebumps. I'm old enough now to appreciate music and the feelings it can give you, and this one was joy.

This backup lives on my PC to this day, and every so often, I listened to the two tracks. Datacrime, by this point, had an updated version up on Spotify, which made me very happy, and that just left Fluorescent without any extra versions.

Fluorescent was my favourite, too, so I got a bit sad!

Along came Spotify, and to my disappointment, the songs weren't on there. My dependence on streaming music was high, as by this point I was living with a granddad who believed buying music was a waste of money - it's on the radio for free!

The CD got lost at some point, but I backed it up to my PC.

We spent ages hunting down a source of the CD - I think I eventually got it in a Cash Generator in some farflung town in Manchester.

I spent many, many, many hours listening to Datacrime and Fluorescent Dream Beams.

I remember there being three tracks on the cassette, though - Cognoscenti vs. Intelligentsia, Fluorescent Dream Beams, and Datacrime.

About 5 years later, I was chatting with a friend on MSN, and his "now playing" showed tracks from that exact same release! I begged him to show me where he got it!

It started on Christmas Day 1999 when my gran bought me the cassette of Cognoscenti vs. Intelligentsia by the Cuban Boys, because she heard that the Hamster Dance was on it & thought it was a cute song.

It was soon confiscated, because there's a very clear use of the word "bastards" at the end!
