My hope is to further develop and refine these devices in order to create helpful and cheap, alternative training methods. The journey continues, but progress so far is looking amazing.

The best thing about these mines? They many of them actually go off. Both a visual and audio queue. No explosives or fancy electronics needed. A simple, cheap, and reusable training tool. And the ones that don’t go off? A simple pen-clicker-like audio indicator.

Over the next few weeks I began 3D modeling and creating realistic Russian landmines from scratch. I looked at pictures, schematics, anything I could find. So far I have created a POM-2 and 3, PMN 1, 2, and 4, a PFM-1, and a MON-50.

A few weeks back, a friend in Ukraine reached out for some help. His new unit had just formed and they needed training materials. Specifically, landmines. They knew I did 3D printing for Ukrainian supplies and asked if this was something I could assist with. I happily obliged.
