Don’t like the movies you see? Well, write your own. Make it better. Fund it better. I love seeing unknown movie makers hit it big. Its why A24 is such a huge studio these days.

Go to movies to have fun. Because if you’re not having fun, what’s the point?

I know a lot of this is me complaining, but the truth is I’m tired of fighting over which movie is better. I just want to just ONCE go see a movie where everyone can say “i had a few issues but overall I had a good time regardless”.

Today, the biggest win in cinema history is that Superman has returned and hit every accomplishment it needed to succeed, regardless of the box office numbers. And I still see people complaining.

Nowadays, it seems everyone’s overly critical of everything. Snyder bros, where were you when the films actually needed support? Paramount, where were you when your biggest cash cow in summer blockbusters got forgotten in marketing?

THAT’S why Marvel films made it big. They made it fun to go to the movies. They told a story that was engaging and just the right amount of dumb that I could ignore the flaws and enjoy the ride.

I didn’t stay because I wanted my money’s worth. I stayed because I was getting my money’s worth. I was able to watch a terrible movie with my father. To see a universe die like democracy: with applause.

Because movies are supposed to be ENTERTAINING. You’re going to have FUN.

Film as an art form is beyond complex. The simple answer for me is that I go just to have a good time. I have never once walked out of a movie, no matter how bad it is. Believe me, I wanted nothing more than to walk out of Dark Phoenix when it came out. But I stayed.

First, a question: why do YOU go to see a movie? Besides the entertainment.

Do you go to criticize a film?
Do you go to support those who make it?
Do you go just because its available?
Do you go because you know its gonna be awful but you still want a good time anyway?
