Disagree. Fringe cases would not attract a Crown laying charges and/or a judge/jury finding guilt. Without some minimums, we are subject to the continuing degradation of reasonable sentencing as a result of these judge's discretions. eg. thedaily.ca/leniency-in-...

Waited until his pension was secure. Then drove his own party into the ground on some misguided belief that he was doing what's best. The NDPs stand to lose party status and he walks away with a gold-plated pension. What an embarrassing legacy.

Are you really buying into the "operating vs capital investment" deception? Look at total spending. He is continuing to drive greater deficits and increase our debt.

Explain how this could possibly balance the budget.

Carney's total budget will increase the forecasted deficit by $130B over 4 years increasing our total debt to $1.4 Trillion. Stop with the "operating vs capital investment" deception.
April 19, 2025 at 4:52 PM
What? Mark Carney's Liberal platform pledges $130B in new spending, adding $225B to federal debt over 4 years.

This plan adds deficits until 2029:
• 2025-26: $62.3B
• 2026-27: $59.9B
• 2027-28: $54.8B
• 2028-29: $47.8B

Tough start. About a hundred fish harvesters thrown out or denied entry to Mark Carney's first stop on his election tour in St. John's. Members of their union wanted to share grievances over restrictive Liberal policies.

Been listening and it is unanimously supportive of Canada's sovereignty and condemning Trump's rhetoric. Both sides of the border. Most American sentiment is that of apology or envious of us.

But also Zelenskyy, Schwarzenegger, and Reagan just to name a few. Clearly popularity plays a role.

Nice nod to Canada.

I didn't say he'd accept the role. I said he'd make a good finance minister.
February 16, 2025 at 8:26 PM
He'd still make a good finance minister in a conservative government. His platform looks just like Poilievre's.

Avis, given how difficult it is for some healthcare workers to move between provinces, how much of a challenge is it for US workers to qualify here?

If the goal is redistribution of wealth, why bother achieving it through a complex collection and rebate system under the veil of carbon reduction? A simple adjustment in personal income tax could do the same thing.

We'll see if Carney's plan to refocus on the corporate sector resonates.

You got me there. That sounds like a catchy new motto for the party "Trust us. We're evolutionary."

Beauty. What's your guestimate on the decibel level at tonight's game? Booing?
February 15, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Lots of focus on the issues that got us here. Acknowledging that Carney is walking back major Liberal policies - carbon tax, capital gains, pipelines... Said "if you want conservative policies, you have to vote Conservative."

Had a litany of proposed actions/policies to be undertaken.

Good rally.
