We drove along the Oregon Coast today. The storm was intense. I almost expected to see Bigfoot in that mist.

Some of those photos of the Gatsby party with 47 remind me of this character from Dr. Who.

I am sorting through twelve pounds of peppers that we hurriedly picked last weekend ahead of the frost. They are in various stages of ripening.

Halfway through harvesting. We are rushing to beat the first frost tonight.

That pepper on the right is called peach sugar rush.

There is a farm on the community trail by our house. My spouse became friends with the owner. Every fall the farm has a pumpkin giveaway and small festival. I visited with the chickens.

This is my new friend.

I’m getting ready to purée these beauties. They are sugar pie pumpkins that I grew in my garden, and they are gorgeous.

I finally got around to separating the peppers. There are a lot of them.

I used several in the pico de gallo. I even threw some in the spaghetti sauce I’m making now.

Peppers galore! Hungarian wax, serrano, jalapeño, and lemon drop, which is a variety of habanero are in this colander. Easily 4lbs, with more in the garden waiting to be harvested.

Hi, Darth!

We removed the lawn in our backyard and created a food forest. We grow enough food for ourselves and to share with a local food bank. There are bees, earthworms, birds, and squirrels that make the space feel like we live in the country.
