Got another good hive from an oak tree that had a big branch snap on some peoples’ property. It took me 3 trips but eventually I found the queen. Did a forced abscond. Just got them situated. The bees on the lid have now found their new entrance! I’m happy about it.

Not so much interested in naked bikes. But maybe they’ll stick that engine in a ADV tourer someday. The thing looks like a monster. They’re saying 170 hp (I think) with that electronic turbo wth

My chainsaw crapped the bed the other day so it’s apart and awaiting a carburetor ugh. So my wife got me this ultra badass manual tree pruning saw and I can’t wait to use it. Plus it’s called the Bigboy 2000, which is amazing.

I guess a tornado came through our bee yard. Knocked two over and took the lids off about 10 others. Luckily the hives appear to be OK, but ai guess time will tell.

I’m normally not so much into honey extraction, and generally opt for leaving it for the bees. But this particular hive had such a huge plethora, we took some to help a customer win over their neighbors close to their bee yard. And left a bunch for the bees to overwinter with. 5 pints from 3 frames!

Went to pick up bees from a removal I did yesterday. Spent about 3 hours looking for the queen, and couldn’t find her. I heard her tooting, and searched and searched. So hopefully she’s in the box because they’re a really nice hive. 😑

I was speaking with an employee at HEB today. He said it was his first day there after transferring from the HEB in Harlingen. He moved up here to go to school at Texas State and didn’t appear to be a rich brat. The kid has a bright future, and it gave me some hope!

I had a customer request I take their grandson out with me to work their bees. I was reluctant to do it since my day is insane today, but tried to cheer up and did it anyway. They told me the kid needs some mentors in his life, and I never thought anyone would ever consider me for that.

An old guy asked me for money for gas today. I gave him $5 and he looked completely creeped out by me. I was like, “have a good one.” And he promptly got the eff out of there. He couldn’t even look at me. Wonder what it was that I did? 🤣
