My brother and I queued for an hour outside the ABC cinema in Nottingham on day of release in UK. We had to wait weeks after its US release. It was completely and utterly mind blowing. I gripped the arms on my seat so hard during the dog fights my fingernails hurt!!!

Both are sublime. I had seen the original version as a regular feature on TV long before the 82 version was released. I saw the Carpenter movie on release in the cinema and cannot explain the impact… ‘are you funking kidding me’….. was my reaction all the way through the movie.

I agree. I took my young daughters to see it in 3D at the cinema and was lost and entranced by it. Stunning landscapes, beautiful animation and of course that music. I went again by myself to see it again! I still watch it whenever I need that ‘hit’.
