When the article says private equity does it mean private equity as in buyout shops or as in any equity investment in private companies (which would include VC)? Original source is paywalled so can’t tell

All of it is silly, but the British branch of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha changed its name to Windsor to avoid German associations during WWI - it’s basically still the same house just under a different name (Victoria had a lot of legitimate heirs they just took Alberts house under the customs of the time)

Pretty sure this is being done through RIP Medical Debt, which buys medical debt at deep discounts and forgives it. Obviously not a solution to the broader structural problem of this debt existing in the first place, but been following them for a while and seems like they do a lot of good work

Even better - given Twitter’s debt service obligations in practice they’re probably really spending their own money to make sure Elon’s banks get to collect their interest payments
