It is so easy for me to get caught up in the darkness of our times. So I try to spend a few moments each day reminding myself of my own humanity, compassion, and Bodhi mind. After all, if I am angry and full of hate, then I am just adding to the darkness. The punk in me wants to be an alternative.

I am on call, so at 4 somethingorother AM. I got a call that a patient had passed away. I get dressed and get ready to head out... then realize, they are not our patient... so I'm up drinking coffee looking at art, listening to music. I mean, there are worse ways to start a day.
