Sitting pretty at 69%. We've been fortunate enough to have the support of the wonderful @edgarwright.bsky.social. Be like Edgar and get involved.

If you haven't been BFI funded or had at least 2 shorts play at BIFA or BAFTA qualifying festivals, you need not apply. No paid shadowing scheme for you.

Excited for this. Weaving is a legit star. And there's a sequence in the trailer that looks like it was lifted, shot for shot, from Baby Driver -- intrigued to see if they're really going to be so brazen.

The 2024 feature The Count of Monte Cristo is not to be missed. A masterful adaptation confidently told right from the opening moments.

Saw someone praising the production design and cinematography of Marvel's Thunderbolts*. And this was the image they used as an example.

A lot of shows aim to be Big Little Lies or The White Lotus. The new 5 ep Netflix mini series Sirens falls somewhere in between. It's a very heightened/stylised world with some wacky/silly humour that'll lurch into heavy drama now and again. But it's got a great cast and is highly entertaining.

Sometimes you need a warm embrace of a show. Etoile is that. From the minds behind Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel -- so of course it's great.

A hilarious, sumptuous, heartfelt, feel good show about dreamers and dysfunctional found families. It's on Prime. Show it some love.

Cannot praise Last Bullet enough. The first 2 films were solid vehicle based action thrillers despite being made on a budget that's half Vin Diesel's salary... this final installment goes all out and takes things to the next level. Proper old school crunchy chases with cars smashing into things.

Anson Boon plays a gangster's son called Eddie in the new show Tom Hardy crime drama MobLand -- and I swear his whole look/accent/mannerisms is pure Desmond Askew from the movie Go.

It's a thorny subject.

Same vibes.

With these 3 blockbusters wanting your money this July, I think it's smart they decided to give each main character a super cute sidekick.

Let me get this straight. These guys have essentially taken control of the US government's money... and they have Blackwater (now called Triple Canopy) mercs protecting them?

We shoulda celebrated this more. What a riot. Loved the world building and the energy it brought. The action's fantastic. It's incredibly funny too. Andrew Koji (Warrior, Black Doves) showing off his range. Skarsgard committing to the action but also delivering a deeply comedic performance too.

Saltburn 2. He's baaaack.

Can't fault the production design in Nosferatu.

I wasn't entirely convinced by the trailer but The Killer's Game was such a goofy blast. Yes, there's the usual iffy CG blood and zero understanding of how deadly grenades are -- but you have Scott Adkins playing a stereotypical Scotsman and doing a semi decent impression of Gerard Butler. It's fun!

I read an early draft of this film. Marketing it as a rom com is certainly a choice. And not at all what you're going to get.

This film is nuts. Over half way through one character randomly gains super powers. But the wildest part is having a montage scored to an acoustic instrumental version of Aled Jones's Walking In The Air from The Snowman.

There's been a lot of AI sexbot movies recently. These two come to mind. But we haven't yet had a film where the fully functional fuckbot is a guy.

I think it's time for me to write my masterpiece. DICK DROID.

Time to pay Luigi a visit.

A problem in the post John Wick action film world, is that every film wants to mimic that style. So now they need an extra reason to stand out and rise above the crowd. A solution for many is to get uglier, nastier, meaner. This film is no different. A really fucked up choice is made 45mins into it.

He also seems to live in a Gungan city... that has delivery drones and satellite feeds, but no security cams within buildings. And a force field around the city which when breached, doesn't trigger any alarms. Callum Drift is running a shoddy operation here. This guy would never have it.

Probably shouldn't have forgotten the poster image. As you can tell, I'm still recovering.
