A win is a win, especially since the 49ers may need more victories than I thought to make the playoffs. But that game was pretty underwhelming. But the players keep pushing and that’s really all I can ask.

Shanahan is smart enough not to criticize his starting quarterback at halftime in a TV interview. That would serve no purpose even if he was going to pull him (which Shanahan won’t do).

This seems so strange for a player to give up that much money even if he wants out, to not even have the union challenge the team’s action. It feels like there’s more to this story.

Some teams don’t have the personnel to do what Portland did. But a lot of teams in the Western Conference do.
November 22, 2025 at 6:08 AM
Portland is a terrible matchup for the Warriors and their rebounding problems. Unfortunately, they’re not the only team in the West like that.

The Spurs made some ‘young team’ mistakes down the stretch. And they don’t have Curry.
November 15, 2025 at 5:46 AM
I am not sure Curry’s greatness is underappreciated, but they had no business winning that game.
November 15, 2025 at 5:19 AM
Curry just needed a little help, and GP2 provided it.

I saw Blue Moon on its last night in theaters, and It Was Just an Accident on Tuesday. I really have to pay close attention to this stuff. The only upside is the realization that seeing movies on weeknights is a nice break.
November 15, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Frustrating, but this is what happens with such an old team, especially because they had to win this game.

This is a fine essay. I saw Hamilton in the movie theater for the first time since 2020 and was reminded of its many strengths without getting bogged down in its Obama era trappings. The second act is all about Hamilton’s political and personal failings.

The backing vocals exist, and keep in mind who is the primary singer of the song: It’s Hamilton. And his own actions turn him into a joke later in the musical. Jefferson is especially giddy. Even King George gets into the act. We’re all supposed to think he’s an ass.

You will have to wait a few weeks. (The play was in previews when I was in town and I didn’t want to insist on a three-hour play on our last night. Then we didn’t return to NYC until spring of 2025.)

He’s killing the Warriors tonight thus far. Good for him.
October 31, 2025 at 2:22 AM
I will finally see this next month after skipping it early in the off-Broadway run.
October 31, 2025 at 2:18 AM
The game is on now.
October 28, 2025 at 2:37 AM
Now it’s on.
October 28, 2025 at 2:36 AM
It says the game is supposed to be on. Infuriating.
October 28, 2025 at 2:35 AM
I am mystified by the TV schedule. Where does one find the game?
October 28, 2025 at 2:33 AM
That was unfortunate, but Lenoir was probably too excited to get the interception to think about getting out of bounds.
October 26, 2025 at 6:35 PM
What a wonderful introduction to not seeing the game.

Rewatched Reds and Diane Keaton still dominates the film even when the focus shifts to Beatty’s character in its latter half. Beatty and Nicholson’s characters are both obsessed with her, and why not? She looks fantastic and is often shot in such a way that makes it hard to blame them.
October 13, 2025 at 8:49 AM
I found Keaton’s death jarring and sad. I didn’t know she was ill, and there is no reason why I would, of course. She was such a unique actress and, by all accounts, such a likeable person.

Moore doesn’t fumble and seems like an OK return guy but catching punts at the 2 makes no sense.
