The Ambassador was followed by Sid Khan, a Scot who was recently held in an Israeli jail following his attempt as part of an international flotilla to deliver aid to Gaza.

🇵🇸 The UK finally recognised the State of Palestine just three weeks ago. At SNP Conference, we were privileged and honoured today to hear from the new Ambassador of Palestine to the UK, Dr Husam Zomlot.

It was great to hear from Roz Foyer, STUC General Secretary at SNP Conference this afternoon. This is the first ever address by the Scottish Trades Union Congress to our party.

🚌 The guidance used to assess ‘safe’ walking routes to school is over 20yrs old and not fit for purpose — it doesn't even require a pavement.

❌ Labour have used that document to remove school transport from over 8,000 kids.

🟡 Today we brought a motion requesting a local review.
🥀 They blocked it.

Renewing a driving license online:
£14

Renewing a DL by post because the online system doesn't work:
£17 fee
+ £10 photo booth prints
+ £2.13 postal order fee
+ £1.70 stamp

Why is the UK Government so technologically illiterate and why does it make a £14 application £31?

We have submitted an urgent business request to discuss Labour’s cuts to school transport at the Executive Committee meeting this morning.

We demand that Councillors have a chance to scrutinise the final details of the cuts before they are introduced - this may be the last opportunity.

There's a certain cruelness in life that finding your glasses would be a lot easier if you were wearing your glasses.

Extremely disappointed to see Labour effectively fabricating figures and quoting me as a source. When my (simple, full election, not a by-election prediction) model had Labour narrowly ahead of the SNP, I was not yet showing Reform figures. I have never published anything with these exact figures.

Today's life management – getting Control Centre organised on my phone.

Frequent controls on page 1, then a page each for downstairs/upstairs smart tech.

Only annoyance is that there's no IF statements in Apple Shortcuts so my work phone line on/off can't be one button.

Sweltering day to rally for a republic on Calton Hill, Edinburgh.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿's tradition of popular sovereignty is much older than the Windsor rule of these islands. A modern, democratic nation deserves an elected head of state that represents and is answerable to us all.

It was devastating to hear this morning that Christina McKelvie MSP had passed away.

She was an absolute gem. Even when I was just some wee guy in the party, she always made every interaction feel like a real conversation, not the usual political patter.

My thoughts are with Keith, Jack and Lewis.

We are once again talking about "welfare" instead of social security. "Welfare" individualises state support, when what the UK built in the post-war years was a social security system which served our common endeavour. "Welfare" is the language of tabloids; it should not be the language of Labour.

I've been thinking about this hard and I believe the world really started turning for the worse when we stopped making swappable fascias for mobile phones.

Your SNP Group believes you should be able to see where your Council Tax is spent.

Watch on Wednesday at 12:30pm using the "SL Committees" YouTube channel.
On Wednesday the SNP Group will present an alternative budget for South Lanarkshire.

Our budget will focus on keeping council tax low, avoiding cuts to services and provide additional investment in key council areas such as Education, Roads, Social Care, Housing and Climate Sustainability.

I'm glad my amendment to a motion was accepted today and the the council will no longer use Twitter/X (other than to share vital emergency updates).

We can no longer ask our staff to subject themselves to hate and violent/sexual material on that platform when managing our account.
South Lanarkshire Council will now only use X for emergency alerts and other urgent information. Read more in the View

I enjoyed getting out on the doors with Stephanie Callaghan MSP and other Uddingston and Bellshill SNP members this morning.

It's vital as local representatives to hear from residents about what matters to them.

You can't trust a word from Scottish Labour. I'd feel bad for Anas Sarwar after this five minutes of squirming if it wasn't entirely of his own making. Great work by Colin MacKay at STV.
