That is the actual reason a friend and her husband gave for moving from Seattle to Scottsdale. She went from crying with joy when Obama was elected to a supporter of the current president.

I’m not ignoring those acres. Those acres are SUPPOSED to burn. To state that the only way to prevent losing homes is to clear an 80 mile perimeter AROUND the LA Metro area is missing the point a bit though.

Did you read the article? It was pretty explicit in mentioning that it was the artificial, man made structures that burned. There are many trees still standing that will survive.
