A cake that happens to #crochet
Hope all my fellow residents of the States enjoyed or had a Thanksgiving to go to. I know my sodium must be high but the morall is too. Here's to surviving the rest of the year to "All I Want For Christmas Is You"

We've reached that threshold of the year where you gotta admit that your hands are cold and using them just makes them colder. Goodbye fingers, I'll see you back in the spring

Nothing asks you how bad you want something like a rising auction bid

Should I invest in those crochet hooks with those ergonomic grips? Idk I feel a little attached to my current hooks even if my 2.75 mm is basically working with a sewing needle. Aldo I don't know how I would carry them in my existing travel pouch

I might be trying to cook on the next project

One thing I've learned that can be cool is that Waffle House training vids are somehow public so someone can show up for an application and say they've already taken the training. Just the level of preparedness of this company.

I decided to be more focused on proper weaving of ends and I gotta say this has been probably the best one of my 2 week projects has turned out lately. This is getting added to the wardrobe. Pattern link in alt text.🧶

Heard a little on the Funko announcement. Which got me thinking. If you were to run a toy business, I would think the most valuable contracts you would have would be with amusement parks and zoos. Little children buy that stuff up all the time.

Today work had a printer kiosk I suppose to try and drive support for Ai usage. Gotta say, it's good at remixing, but hardly creative. There isnt enough tokens available to get what id actually want

I was made aware via my brother that they have a connection to someone with alpacas. So now I want to know if the man sells the fleeces. This would be the only way I will get into spinning because at most a new wheel is asking to empty my wallet. Gotta search for used wheels

I think it might be an interesting experiment for a zoo to have a conservatory or a herbatorium to focus on flora species because I know the fauna is usually what people go to zoos for, so they pay no mind to the diverse trees along the path no matter how fascinating they are.

There are times where you might be doing your best at work and the Director ends up calling you a hero. Maybe you are just very proficient at what you do or you have always been able to jump on things that need quick responses and answers. This week I am a very weary employee.

New stitch concept added to my repertoire. Extended moss stitches. I don't have a full concept on how to universally apply them but the current project will use them.

Made something really quick because I did the thing where I visit a store and felt like I needed to buy something without much plan on what that would be. Also diverted on a pattern after getting bored while working on one 🧶

Starting to wonder if a better follow-up to events should be less of "what do you think about ____" and more along the lines of "do you have questions or concerns about ___". idk, just something like rephrasing the question so you keep from taking an opinion and framing it like fact.

Finished the shawl I alluded to a while back. Was a good way to use up my fingering weight. Pattern url in the alt text. This is not a free pattern 🧶

I remember the time when I thought that 100 stitches across for a blanket was a lot of stitches. Granted I hadn't known about anything thinner than worsted weight but oh has that perspective changed since.

Welcome to Mid-October where the ragweed hasn't forgotten it is its time to make our sinuses and ability to focus, that much harder for a while.

My father told me he tells others that his son went to college and came back a few thousand dollars richer and bought a car in full with it. All this to say I was probably one of the luckiest kids in that circumstance. Finding such a story for who's in school now must be a unicorn.

I need for someone to help me understand how corporate parties are so incredibly messy with the food. Like how do we manage to stain the filing cabinet and the surrounding carpet with one container of tea. They came prepared with shrink wrap on the floor too

What I've learned about cooking in the states is that cheese is inevitable.

Yarn stores somehow have a great pitch. Clothing, *some assembly required*

Had an attempt at ciabatta bread. Granted I was passing out at every stage and I don't know how long the oven's timer was yelling at me. They turned out well.

I was bamboozled last night by a recipe for corn sticks. Which was really cornbread in a stick shape that apparently has its own bakeware dish. I don't know what whipping several egg whites by hand did but im glad I had an empty mason jar to make it easier.
